Social Media got busy on Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving Day was celebrated on Thursday  (22 November 2012). It is a harvest festival, a national holiday of the United States and Canada. It is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude.

The most popular side dish at Thanksgiving was a tourkey’s stuffing, this was rated by a mentioned numbers of users on Twitter and Facebook. More than 150,000 users tweeted  and updated about their Thanksgiving dinner and Friday, was the day when most people shared their “Food comma” from a Thanksgiving feast on Facebook. Meanwhile on Pinterest, green beans were the most pinned side dish on Thanksgiving.  (Virealheat.com , 2012)

Thanksgiving was Instagram’s busiest day so far. Over 10 million photos mentioned Thanksgiving word in their captions or hash tags  More than 200 photos about Thanksgiving were updated every second on Instagram. Thanksgiving Day broke the Instagram’s record set by Hurricane Sandy when more than 1.3 million photos were posted on Instagram and 10 photos posted per second.
